        Hi everyone,

        I’m facing a persistent telecom issue in my hometown (Tamil Nadu, a taluk comprising several villages) and would appreciate legal guidance.

        Since **September 2025**, both **BSNL and Jio networks have had severe call delivery failures** in my area:

        * Calls ring on the caller’s side but **never reach my phone (BSNL)**
        * On Jio, I sometimes receive an SMS saying a call was attempted, but the call itself never came through
        * This has led to **missed professional calls, interview call, financial loss, and safety concerns for elderly family members.**
        * **Even courier delivery boys talks with disrepect assuming that we intentionally dont respond. just imagine being talked with bad words just because your ISP is misleading callers.**

        Additionally, I’ve observed a broader systemic issue:

        * During DNS-related problems, **both BSNL and Jio networks go down simultaneously**
        * During power cuts, **both networks become unavailable**
        * Locals indicate that operators may be using **shared infrastructure (tower/backhaul/power)**
        * **The network shows signal availablity but internally doesnt work as intended, even says calls ate barred, number not correct and out of service.**

        This suggests a **single point of failure and lack of redundancy**, affecting not just my household but a wider region. Given that users are paying ~₹3999/year for telecom services, this level of unreliability is concerning.

        Steps taken so far:

        * Raised multiple complaints with BSNL, including escalation channels (no resolution)
        * Escalated to TRAI ~4 months ago (no improvement)
        * Informal response from a BSNL official indicated there is no urgency to fix coverage and asked me to “wait longer,” despite the issue persisting for months

        My questions:

        1. Does this qualify as **deficiency of service** under consumer protection laws?
        2. Can I approach the **consumer court** for compensation due to financial loss and negligence?
        3. Does the shared infrastructure / simultaneous failure strengthen a legal case?
        4. Is there any way to compel telecom operators or authorities to fix such long-standing issues?
        5. Would filing through DoT grievance portal or sending a legal notice be effective at this stage?

        Looking for practical advice from anyone who has handled similar cases.
