I am a 21 M. Need legal advice regarding an online argument and whether it could create any SC ST act issue.

I and another person are both state pcs aspirants and part of the same online coaching telegram group.

I recently lost my phone in which i had my pdfs and the course had expired ,so I could not log in another phone to redownload it.

So, i privately messaged him requesting whether he could share the PDFs with me .

“My phone fell from train, bhai, can you share the course pdfs?”

He replied- “my phone fell from airplane . Wont give pdfs”

I got irritated and replied -” Even if you qualify prelims with 70 marks as many times, your filth in mind wont end “(basically 70 is the cutoff for sc category and 85 is of general)

I DONT KNOW HIS NAME OR CASTE, I JUST GUESSED.

(**Please see , I have no problem with RESERVATION, it was just a heated moment and i know i should not have said anything that even remotely hints otherwise)

Now , he took screenshot ,and threatening me

1) SC St act case

2) personally meet in future to “show” me who he is.

I did not use any caste slur, caste name .

My telegram settings hide my details.

Could my message realistically create any issue ?

Should i simply block and ignore tbe person?

Yes, I have learnt the lesson to not argue with anyone in future . But ,I am in panic mode as i stay alone away from home

Can my message regarding marks cutoff be not seen directly but interpreted as a bad word, if suppose he happens to go to police ?

Also, I am afraid that since his cutoff is so low, if he becomes an officer easily, then can he misuse his power to trace me from telegram in future?

Regardless, block and move on. It’s unlikely he’ll do anything. Stop panicking and fix your mindset first.

The fact you still assume he’ll pass because his cut off is “low” and your first assumption is he’ll misuse his powers – let alone to get back to some guy online. Chill out and focus on studies.

That’s not casteism. And people do misuse power. .. a lot of. irrespective of which caste or religion they are from. So if OP is worried that a person with grudge might misuse his power to hurt him, it’s not because of caste in but because of fear of misuse of power.
Also, if someone gets selected with low marks and other person tells them that you were selected due to low cut off.. it’s pointing on their poor performance not casteism. Casteism would be when the same matter is discussed with use of casteist words.

This is the problem with you and most casteist people in India, you don’t even realize that you are practicing casteism. You should panic and fix your casteist mentality. Otherwise, you might escape this now, but in the future you will definitely face repercussions for your mentality.

The amount of downvotes just goes to show the depth to which casteism is seeped into the indian people. Abey uska cutoff “low” hai ya high yeh OP kaun hota hai decide karne wala? Govt. decided that. Present BJP govt. supports and upholds that. If OP has a problem with that, go to Supreme Court.

Aise toh OP kal ko kahega ki women ke liye military aur paramilitary mein physical requirements “low” hain toh kaheen woh officer banke power ka misuse na karien? Wth is this mindset? This child mentality wala person poori life rota hi rahega.

It was an unwarranted casteist remark but I don’t think it will attract Prevention of Atrocities Act as it specifies that the slurs should have been in a place with a public view or in your case maybe a group chat.. so I guess you are not in trouble on that part but being a CSE aspirant.. please understand these things can have dire repercussions in the future.. all the best for your exams
