March 18, 2025 at 11:17 amThis happened recently in Hyderabad. I had just gotten down from a bus and was waiting alone when a group of transgender beggars approached me. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but then they started touching my hands and pressuring me for money. When I didn’t give them anything, they began verbally abusing me.I felt uncomfortable and helpless in that moment. I understand that people struggle to make a living, but this kind of behavior is just not okay. No one should have to deal with this while simply waiting in public.
Has anyone else faced a similar situation? What can be done in such cases?

Do not to fight unless you are ready to fight naked people in the street.Practical advice : avoid them like you avoid silver back gorillas. no aggressive actions , eyes down , calm tone. make them bored and they will move on.

March 18, 2025 at 12:39 pmHappened with me once. I went to the beach with my female friend. A transgender beggar approached me, asking for money. I politely declined, but he didn’t listen and became verbally aggressive. The situation escalated, and he was on the verge of physically harassing me. Fortunately, my friend had some coins, which she gave to him, diffusing the situation and calming me down. Had she not been there, things might have turned violent. I hate to say it, but I was prepared to knock him down because his harassment was extreme.Mostly they are like this bcuz people believe in superficial things that whatever they say to you will come true, so they got a license where they know people & system won’t do anything to them. 😕

March 18, 2025 at 1:12 pmReminds me of the time when public in Mumbai local trains started throwing transgender’s out of running trains. Transgender’s stopped catching these trains & also because these were serious cases where you can’t catch anyone, RPF and authorities started strictly stopping transgender’s from doing their thing on railway stations. Not suggesting you to do all this, but just giving you an example of what it takes for authorities come handle these situations.
