April 16, 2025 at 3:50 pmHey World,About 11 months ago, I posted here (https://www.reddit.com/r/LegalAdviceIndia/s/tH5AH1z6cx) about my struggle to get my unpaid salary from my previous employer.
After months of:
– Sending legal notices
– Filing complaints with Income Tax
– Complaining at local police station
– Meeting with the DGP of Bangalore to get approvalI’ve FINALLY managed to get an FIR filed against the company and both founders. And guess what? It’s a non-bailable FIR!
The founders and their lawyers were operating under the misconception that salary dues are always a civil matter. Turns out, they were wrong.
Now I’m wondering about next steps:
1. Should I be following up with the police investigation regularly?
2. What additional documentation should I prepare?
3. Should I still pursue a parallel case in labor court?
4. What should I expect regarding court appearances?
5. How should I handle potential settlement offers? For anyone in a similar situation, don’t give up! Withholding salaries can be treated as a criminal offense in certain circumstances.
Would appreciate any advice on what to do next or experiences from anyone who’s been through this process.
Thanks for all the support from this community!
