April 10, 2025 at 10:20 amPosting this on behalf of a close friend. While she was in Canada, she met an Indian man who emotionally manipulated her in what appears to be a classic honey trap situation. He is now back in India and has started blackmailing her, demanding money and making threats. She’s terrified and feels trapped. Even if she gives in to his demands, there’s no reason to believe he will stop. Since she is in Canada, she feels powerless and unsure where to turn. This post is a last-ditch effort to find real help, ideally something that can be done online or remotely through legal or digital channels in India.
If anyone has credible contacts, cybercrime resources, or legal advice on how to proceed, please share. No judgments, just looking for support and actionable guidance during a very difficult time.
Thank you so much to anyone who can help.

April 10, 2025 at 10:48 amSo why can’t they all block him? Or else file a police complaint against him?-

April 10, 2025 at 10:52 amYou’re being a little unreasonable, if a person reaches out to people at your workplace are you going to ask everyone at your work place to block a person for you? And just like that there are countless circles where you don’t exactly have the luxury to ask people to block someone.-

April 10, 2025 at 10:57 amWell what’s also unreasonable is that he has the contact details of your countless circles. Anyhow, may be someone in your family, who you can confide in, can file a complaint against him and give his nonsense some rest, for good. All the best!

April 10, 2025 at 1:40 pmThe indian cyber crime portal is only accessible if we use a VPN and set our location within India, plus there is no option or submit a report as an overseas person.

April 10, 2025 at 5:37 pmAre you narrating the story of your friend or is it actually your own story which you may have said so to avoid embarrassment? :). Don’t worry, I am not going to make you or her (if it is really your friend’s story) feel guilty. However, there are many information missing in this story which you have not disclosed most probably because it is too personal or due to shame. I would like to advise you to feel free and tell the entire story because you do not need to tell your or your friend’s real name and personal details so there is no need to feel humiliated and I cannot suggest a correct answer unless I know all the details. -
