Want to sue Alliance air? How to proceed

They have cancelled flight and didn’t bother to notify us. Sent a message prior to 4 hours to departure. I had to miss my other flight because of them.
I have an exam a day after and for this I am going through immnse mental agony. How to proceed from here?

Booked different PNR means alliance air is not liable for the missed flight.

Never book flights on two different PNRs

Mental agony is yours to bear in this situation.
