UMy wife and me finalized an house for rent on Saturday 2nd may and paid 10k token
On Tuesdays we kept some of our things in the place and put our lock
On Wednesday morning due to some family situation we concluded that we cannot move and informed the landlord immediately and took back our belongings and removed the lock.
During all this no agreement was signed.
After taking our things back we tried contacting him to refund token at least partially after deducting pro rated amount for the trouble. He’s not responding and now has blocked on WhatsApp.
What are our options?

Uthe fact that no agreement was signed probably makes this more of a practical dispute than a clean contractual one especially since you informed him quickly and even removed your belongings immediately. at the same time landlords often treat token amounts as compensation for blocking the property for other tenants even for a short period so that is probably the mindset from his side. the blocking part obviously makes it look worse because now there is no communication at all. do you at least have proof of the token payment and chats showing there was no clear non refundable condition discussed beforehand
