April 14, 2025 at 2:07 pmWe had a consumer dispute with a local mechanic (mechanic 1). The mechanic accompanied us to a Honda authorized service center on another mechanic’s (mechanic 2) bike.Mechanic 2’s bike is not part of the consumer dispute we had with mechanic 1. It was only used by mechanic 1 for visiting the service center.
My brother was driving this bike back to the mechanic’s shop. Police stopped him on the way because the bike had irregular number plate. Instead of a challan just for irregular number plate, police added “driving without documents s130/177” and “temporarily vehicle taken into safe custody s207” and detained the vehicle.
The consumer dispute with mechanic 1 was resolved and we are assisting both mechanic 1 and mechanic 2 to resolve the issue with detained bike because it was being driven by my brother when it was detained.
My brother and mechanic 1 went to the concerned PS and started the procedure. Counselling was done and it was told that they will get a fine challan tomorrow at the court which they can pay and release the vehicle.
However, mechanic 2 now wants to file a complaint about his bike with the local PS. He is talking about going to the police and making a complaint. He didn’t tell us for what he’ll be making a complaint but he’s threatening us about it.
I’m wondering how to handle the situation. It was discussed and settled that whatever the challan amount for the vehicle will be, it will be paid by the mechanics 1 and 2. We (me and my brother) are doing everything to get the bike released for the mechanic. The vehicle should be released tomorrow if all goes right.
I did talk to a lawyer who told me that until we don’t get a notice or a call from police about a complaint, we don’t have to worry.
Place; Hyderabad.
If anybody can suggest a lawyer or a way to find an affordable lawyer to handle the situation. I’d be grateful. Thank you.

April 22, 2025 at 4:15 pmIPay the court-issued challan fine (Rs. 500โ1000) for the irregular number plate and missing documents, and submit the release order to the Hyderabad police or impound yard. Ensure Mechanic 2 provides vehicle documents or a compliant number plate; contact advocate at 9010787191 if issues persist.
