January 27, 2025 at 10:47 amI can’t stop thinking about this what’s stopping a neighbor, coworker, or random enemy from planting drugs in my car, bag, or house and then calling the cops? With the NDPS Act, wouldn’t I be arrested on the spot and have to prove my innocence (which feels impossible)?
Am I the only one paranoid about this, or is this something that could actually happen? How do you even protect yourself from something like this? -

January 27, 2025 at 10:59 amGet CCTV’s fitted inside and outside your home and buy some cheap dashcams for your car. That way you will know if they plant something.-

January 27, 2025 at 11:08 amAnd what if they plant it somewhere the cameras don’t catch? Or what if the dashcam conveniently goes missing?-

January 27, 2025 at 11:48 amYou’re probably right, but it’s hard to stop thinking about it when the fear feels so real.-

January 27, 2025 at 11:55 amTake it this way.
The person who will do wrong to you will be in bigger trouble. He has more to lose.
You may face some initial trouble of interrogation but the ultimate truth is, all these Agencies know how to handle this kind of case better. That’s why you don’t see such a case more often.

OP
January 27, 2025 at 12:01 pmOkay, I was under the impression that I’d be arrested on the spot, and brought before the court, and then stuck in jail for ages because bail under these provisions is nearly impossible. Also someone commented that this happens all the time, and now someone’s talking about fake witnesses just popping up out of nowhere. Honestly, I don’t even know what to believe anymore. It’s all just so overwhelming.

January 27, 2025 at 11:12 amSee there is a fine line between anxiety and genuine worry.
I think right now with this thought you are crossing over the anxiety part of it.Although the scenario you mentioned is likely, the probability of it happening is very minuscule.
And if it does happen, I’m pretty sure you won’t be the first person, and there might be some safe guards or methods with which you could prove your innocence. The chances of your enemy dying in a car crash while going to fetch the drugs to plant on you is more likely than the scenario playing out in your mind 😁

January 27, 2025 at 11:23 amI think the advocate Amish Aggarwal spoke about this exact scenario in the podcast with Raj Shamani. He explains that this particular scenario is pretty hard to get out of. He also elaborates that sometimes fake witnesses emerge from nowhere.
