It often feels as though the police see themselves as rulers rather than public servants, treating citizens as if they are subjects rather than individuals with rights. Instead of providing protection, many people live in fear of how they might protect themselves from the police. There is a widespread concern about their unchecked powerโ€”they can fabricate evidence, detain individuals for weeks without officially registering a case, manipulate medical reports, and even use legal loopholes to delay justice. For instance, some officers exploit the system by presenting an accused person in court only during lunch breaks, ensuring they are quickly sent back to custody.

With incidents of police misconduct on the riseโ€”such as the recent case of Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son, where 12 police officers allegedly assaulted themโ€”it raises serious concerns about accountability. Given this situation, many people are questioning whether it is better to leave the country in search of a safer and more just environment.

What are the possible solutions to this issue? Should one stay and fight for change, or is seeking a better life elsewhere the wiser choice?

          Here is the solution

Stay in India -> Earn money and influence -> Don’t commit crimes -> Cop no trouble -> Stay Happy

Leaving India only because your are afraid of Cops does not make sense IMHO. Known devil is much better than unknown devil, who knows what will scare you aboard? Risk of immigration? Cost of living? Discrimination?

Living anywhere comes with a tradeoff and there is always a way to be happy and secure irrespective of where you live

Well said. Once you are extremely rich, cops won’t touch you. They know if they implicate you in a false case, you will put up a battery of lawyers to screw their life in court and otherwise.

The case of Prasanna was an exception otherwise rich-and-not-into-crimes is the best way to lead a worry free life in India.

When I see cops shooting (in news) unarmed people during routine traffic stops in US, I think in India when cops stop you in traffic all you need is to pay just 100 bucks. Just keep normal life and stay away from trouble and trouble makers.

Maybe if you are in a eu country(not including France and Italy) it might be better
As The police or the people in general just are good.

But yeah if this happens to you in india it’s pretty hard to get out of this rabbit hole only a good lawyer might be able to save you. Keyword might.
