March 23, 2025 at 11:51 amHi everyone,
I’m in a really tough situation and I need some advice. My ex-boyfriend and I were living together in a coliving situation in Hyderabad and we broke up and I moved out 4 months back due to his online gambling/rummy and horse riding betting addictions and recently I found out that he took out several loans in my name without my knowledge. These include home loans(56 lakhs), personal loans(15 lakhs), and even credit loans(5 lakhs) from different banks.
I found these due to the alternate number(my brothers number) he added in one of the loans and bank people called my brother for missing payment and I checked the cibil report and found out about these loans.
I’m feeling completely lost about what my next steps should be.Has anyone been through something like this? What steps should I take to protect myself and fix this situation? Any advice on how to approach the banks, what legal actions I can take, or how to repair my credit would be really helpful.
And I don’t know how to prove these are fraudulent loans without my consent.I appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Thank you in advance! This is my first post. Please let me know if you need more details.

March 23, 2025 at 12:00 pmNAL.I don’t understand how’s that possible. I get personal loans and loans on credit cards can easily be taken out via app, but a massive home loan without your knowledge?? Odd. Did he put you as the co applicant or something like that?

March 23, 2025 at 12:04 pmEven I don’t know myself how we was able to take such huge loan and I believe banks do lot of verifications while giving home loans. I believe he might have done some fraudulent actions by making some other women impersonating me.-

March 23, 2025 at 12:03 pmit’s not possible to take loan on some random person’s name.Make sure it’s not scam because recovery agent call everyone in contact list of loan taker and lie them that loan taker has give their name as guranteeer.
Such big loan on your brother name is not possible without brother knowing
Check cibil report of your brother and yours again.
Visit bank brach again and confirm.-

March 23, 2025 at 12:04 pmConsult a local lawyer dealing with loan recovery cases (generally before the Debt Recovery Tribunal).
You will need to file a FIR against him, and then apply to get your name struck off all loans on the basis that these were fraudulent transactions made without your signature or consent. You’ll need copies of all loan documents as well, and a lawyer can help you through this process.-

March 23, 2025 at 12:07 pmGo to the police station and file an FIR for fraud. Also add the bank manager and loan officials in the complaint. They shouldn’t have approved the loan in your name without your permission. -

March 23, 2025 at 12:30 pmNAL.Is it chatgpt ragebait?
In kyc they ask for aadhar and to verify aadhar you would need to give your biometrics.
Additionally, you need to provide your income details ( ITR ) to get loans. That may include your work record, your employment status etc. Also, details of collateral and/OR guarantor.
If it isn’t rage bait, First get the details for loans and respective KYC officers at bank.
Hire a lawyer and file An FIR ASAP for fraud, impersonation and identity theft.

March 23, 2025 at 3:40 pmSo the dumbest thing I did was due to the fights we had I left him and with the luggage whatever I can get.
At that time I forgot my sim with which was linked to aadhar due to the mental torture I had and i didn’t want to connect with him again.1. I had two accounts out of one which was kotak bank which is connected with that number and I believe he was able to login with the bank details when we were together.
2. As I mentioned mobile sim was left with him which is the dumbest thing i did
3. I haven’t since I didn’t have the number but my brothers alternate number
4. I don’t this, I ended up finding all this information yesterday only after looking at paytm cibil score and loans info.
5. Kotak home loan, yes bank and icici personal loans and HDFC credit loan.I can file FIR but I am scared of these things leaked to my parents.

March 23, 2025 at 3:52 pmOh Damn ….
Better keep paying EMI , then you will get married and to hide it from your spouse continue to pay and later to hide it from your offspring continue to pay the EMI.Or the alternate is to file FIR n stop the cycle.

March 23, 2025 at 8:11 pmApproach each lender and ask them to share copies of the loan applications. Notify that you are a victim of ID theft and need the copies to start legal proceedings.Review the copies to check that you were not a party in any manner. Post that, you should initiate a criminal and civil case against your ex.
