UFor few days i was going for a run in morning 4.30AM .
Today when i was coming back from running from park(it is 3 to 4KM far from my home), i was stopped by a police officer (he was in uniform) and he started asking for my details.
He started asking every details like where you coming from, my home address, my father’s name, why cant you run in your local area, how much did you run today and everything.
He also took my bike pic and started noting everything down (name, address everything).
He said i was following you for 1 to 2km and you weren’t stopping, i said why didn’t you signal me or press horn to stop me, he said horn is not working, and i kinda smiled.
Also i was wearing helmet and was driving under speed limit not breaking any laws.
I asked why was I stopped?
he said if you were driving any other vehicle like splendor or scooty i wouldn’t have stopped, you were driving this bike thats why.
And i was like what? Thats it and he took my whole life story and everything like i was doing something illegal.
And mind you i was riding apache rtr 160 (its like cheap af(1.5lakh), i agree its kinda look good but not that good to be reason for stopping).
And when he was leaving he said dont do anything wrong.
Im new to driving and i dont know much how to handle with this situation,so i was complying with him.
Did i do the right thing? Or should i have said like why you noting everything down(taking pics of bike) and etc. As i didnt feel comfortable for sharing everything to a random cop for literally 0 reason.
And can police stop you for literally nothing??
TL;DR : i was stopped by police for riding naked style bike and was asked to provide every details and he noted everything down. How should i handle this, can i say im not comfortable for sharing??
