Wife stole my household stuff.

I got married in 2024, and about a year later in 2025, I filed for divorce. After that, my wife filed multiple cases against me and my family under Section 125, Section 12 of the DV Act, and 498A, apparently as a counterblast.

We were living in a rented house. I moved out first, while she continued staying there with all the household belongings. Recently, I found out that she has vacated that flat and left, taking all the household items with her, basically everything that was in the house.

Given this situation, can I file a theft FIR, or would it be more appropriate to proceed under Section 406 IPC?

PS all the stuff was bought by my parents prior to the marriage
