Can’t say what the alternate would be but people have been facing problems due to fading fingerprints for a long time now.

“Bonus” and “performance-linked incentives” for those not in management roles have only one purpose — to defer payment of a part of your salary. Now it depends on the company whether they pay you that component when you leave.
