I would suggest go to a lawyer & pay some consultancy fees & ask him to help you with all the things at best.
Paying a small fee is not a big deal to avoid the doomsday  in future.
Hire a lawyer bro.
Taking life decisions based on other ppl knowledge who might have completely different experiences, life is not a good idea.

Well recovery can be costly.
My company didn’t have snowflake backup & they had to pay 25k$ to retrieve data just because the board deck data had many missing points
