Even if they don’t get commissions, they probably have targets.

In this specific case the matter may be complex.

Was there any agreement, even verbal, between this politician-owner and the developer that he would not be paying maintenance as part of the development deal?

Can’t say much without looking into the specifics.

First of all make sure the notice is genuine and not some scam. Best is to get some lawyer in your hometown to look into the matter and get the complete details. You can decide on your response / strategy after that.

You now have two options – fight or flight.

Fight: The odds of succeeding against a women, that too a narcissist as you claim, is slim. She will weaponize against you say against you. The courts will side with her by default.

Flight: Liquidate all assets in your name and invest in a safe country like Dubai. Don’t tell anyone about this. Next, you relocate there and get a job. Tell your wife your salary is too low to sponsor a family visa. And live happily ever after.

Forget about the property and gold you purchased in your wife’s name. Let her use that for her maintenance.

The main gate of the apartment complex is not his exclusive property. It is a common area and he is a joint owner with all others. He cannot install a CCTV camera there without the permission of others, i. e. the RWA. Willingness to share footage is not a justification.

The video plus the dirty talk (surely it was two way) would surely indicate it was consensual sex going on and not rape. Plus you don’t have a problem with it going viral. So you don’t have anything to worry about.

Cutting water and electricity is a criminal offence. But electric meters can get faulty or develop loose connectionsπŸ˜‰

Also, if the apartment is at a higher floor, you can very well deny him lift access and also access to any other amenities in the apartment. You’ll need the support of your association though.

RWA is not a super owner.

The only business of the RWA is to manage the common area. They do not have the right to decide who comes in or goes out of your apartment.

The role of the security guard at the main gate is only to
                    1. Confirm with YOU whether to let the visitor in or not
                    2. Gather their identity.

They have no right to scrutinise the purpose of visit. That’s a violation of your privacy.

You can invite minors or for that matter even prostitutes, gamblers or anyone else you fancy into your apartment. Any legal implications of the same falls on you alone and not the RWA. Technically, they do not even have the power to regulate visiting hours. What they can do is restrict lift access to some category of visitors such as delivery agents, which itself is a legal grey area (leaving aside the ethical angle of it).

Many people unfortunately surrender their rights to the RWA uncles, making RWA a super owner of their properties. Of course, standing your ground might involve friction with the RWA. If they remain adamant, the only recourse is filing a police complaint or court case against the RWA office bearers for unlawful restraint / blocking access to your home. But if enough apartment owners are legally aware and assert their rights, the RWA will be helpless to impose these petty-fascist rules.

Note: This applies only if you own the apartment. If you are renting, you may be subject to various restrictions as per the rental agreement. If the owner adds a clause in the rental agreement that you have to abide by the RWA rules, then there’s nothing much you can do about it.
