First option : Buy a used washing machine, of similar make and capacity and replace it.
Second option : Agree on some amount which he can deduct 4 to 5 k to get the same fixed himself .
Third option : Buy the cheapest new machine and see if the cost can be split 50 : 50.

Ideally Second option is best, else first .
