Most practical solution is be with her but live your own life. You have already spent the marriage expenses, and if you’re good enough – you’ll make that bank back in your life with your job and investments.

Put all of your money into a shell account or your mom’s account. All your investments too. So that she can’t claim anything in the case of a divorce.

Become unattached and don’t feel bad for yourself that you got into this mess. Get your own girl and live your life.

Filing for divorce is the most headache thing in my opinion. You’ll lose more in the long term than you have anything to gain. Unless she is threatening to destroy your life with fake 498A cases – don’t go that route. Stay unattached, maintain a fake status quo.

In POCSO – there is no concept of consent.

It is statutory rape even if the girl herself submitted to that guy with open arms. You just need to prove that the pregnancy has happened and his sperm caused it.

Rest it is upto you. Once the crime is proved, the divorce proceedings can be done normally – and there shouldn’t be any issue.

Based on where you live – reach out to your nearest cyber crime police station. There is a station officer at SHO level or sometimes a HQ head who is typically ACP rank officer – most probably you can’t meet this level.

But at least get this contact from the website. Usually these are updated and correct.

When anyone reports a cyber crime (and anyone can do from anywhere in the country – there is no jurisdiction logic for cybercrime) – ask for the complaint details and there is usually a complaint ID etc. It’s not necessary to for a real cop to share this with you but as a citizen you’ve a right to ask.

Cyber crime police are usually not as rough as crime branch cops – so the demeanour can also reveal a bit – the crimes here are mostly bitcoin fraud or Paytm scam etc.

Cyber harassment or bullying against women is (as bad as it is) not really a priority unless the girl in question is a big deal (usually if it is a celebrity – it’s taken with priority).

The crime against women is serious only if it affects their modesty in India – so a rape or direct physical confrontation like assault or touching inappropriately or abuse of highest standard again physically can lead you to trouble.

In a digital crime – only when you share her nude pics or videos or send her any pornographic material or morph her own pics and share it with her on WhatsApp etc. is when you’re a gone case. Just saying fuck you even to a random girl – no one is going to arrest you on that trivial detail.

So context of that chat is also important. Like understand what is the “abuse”. If you would’ve said – “you’re a fucking idiot Neha” – that’s nothing. But if the chat has something sexual (modesty) – then it’s problematic.

I’ve a DCP cyber crime as a close relative – so I know how these things work. I’ve even seen many FIRs of cyber harassment and abuse / they’re very trivial and mostly from celebrity fans associations or similar.

Police are constitutionally given rights to beat up citizens (when it matters).

Our cop culture is a legacy handed down from British colonial hangover – so the cops at all ranks are taught to be very curt and ruthless with citizens.

This is specifically true for cops posted under Law and Order (basically the section that deals with murders, thefts etc.) The traffic, cyber crime etc. are more mellowed down generally.

The crime branch are usually the most ruthless as they regularly deal with rapists, murderers, rowdy sheeters etc.

Since there are 1.5 billion people, the amount of people doing crime is also quite high. So the cops usually are very very rough, this means that even the accused (and not guilty) also face the heat.
