This happened with someone I know. He changed his phone number and deactivated all his social media accounts for a while. They did not leak the video.
I think they just blackmail you to extort some money. They use the fear. Leaking the video isn’t going to be beneficial for them also. In fact, it increases the chances of getting a case filed against them if they leak the video.
