OP, first of all don’t panic, but may I suggest having a good lawyer is something you should consider, there are many people that we know about who got dragged to the depths of false cases and their lives got tarnished for the same. Two points here : considering that police are helping the owner (complainant) to trace a phone to you all the way, points in the direction that he might be somewhat influential. Secondly, these days there are some tensions going on around the country for the tensions of security lapses in the country, you owning a stolen phone can be pushed to a bad thing, I also believe that you are aware of people whose lives got destroyed since they were falsely framed in certain situations!

OP: take this with a pinch of salt and believe that this won’t be blown out of proportions, but if I were you, I would have done my most logical actions at the least, I would have certainly taken legal help from a good lawyer, all the Best OP, may truth prevail

Do one thing, if your gf has no other male friend/bros, pay some rowdies and tell them u need help, u can plan to make them act as her bro and beat the shit out of him
