Hey OP, Good suggestion👆👆 Also, DO NOT raise voice against her at any point of time nor fight with her alone or in public too. Also, try not to meet her alone because she is clearly not interested in continuity the marriage and hence might blame you or tell lies to her family or even courts that you shouted at her or verbally abused her!.. Please meet her only in front of her parents along with some company with you and audio record the conversation during this meeting where you ask her why she does not want to continue this marriage with you. Right direction but any child would want to protect his/her parent from the abuser parent. Nothing wrong in that. But, ultimately the mother here should file the complaint.

FIR or a formal complaint is essential since the abuser is trying to frame the son/daughter for protecting his/her mother from his abuse.

It is not a punishable offense after 2017.

Exactly.. I was about to state the same. Narcissists abuse and beat others but ACT LIKE A VICTIM always in front of family and society!!.. Op start recording the abuse and his verbal outbursts with hidden camera. If he files any case on you or your mother, you will have the ACTUAL PROOF OF WHO IS THE ABUSER!!

Learn about narcissistic abuse and reactive abuse. The narcissists almost always are aggressive and might beat and do physical assaults (You will get to know if your father is that or similar cluster B disorder related person if you read up on narcissism, BPD, and antisocial personality disorders online on 👉YouTube, quora, and reditt 👈).

Protect your mother and yourself (Are you a son or daughter?).

Feel so bad for OP and similar men who are stuck in bad marriages like this. But, not all women are like that. Men only marry after dating a girl for few years atleast. And marry in a relationship where power balance is same. Here, the girl being in a government job and her father being in a government job seems to be the big power imbalance which they seems to be misusing.
