I understand your point but it is what it is. You either pay around 3k and don’t hear from him again or you take the longer route but it will consume your time. Imo everything works like this in India.

Don’t understand your estimate is at max 3000 and he’s asking 3500? What’s the deal just negotiate for 300p or pay the extra 500 avoid the hassle. I mean he has to get it fixed so you can pay the extra 500 for his time?

Not much to think about. Approach the police. Claim that he’s abusive and a threat to your and your family’s life. If push comes to shove, bribe the cops to keep him locked up for a couple days with special treatment. Should do the job
