There’s something called CASA Sweep in where if you have high balance in your savings account, the bank creates an FD automatically. This does not affect your minimum account balance and does not require to you to break the FD if you need money. If money in savings gets below threshold, funds are automatically transferred from the FD to savings account. The threshold and interest rates vary bank to bank. You can ask your bank if this is a sweep in FD account which is automatically created.
