It’s best to engage with a lawyer. There might be many things that they will look and suggest to do to get out of this mess.
EI meant, if he is in Jail then approx 5 years he will be in jail while the case is going on in the court.If he is found not guilty then he will be out. If he is the culprit then the judge will decide his prison term.
