May 4, 2025 at 11:09 amYou have no legal liability here. You rented on zoom and he rented his car to zoom. Zoom is the one with whom that owner would have to work or negotiate or have legal battle.Since you have intimated accident, had insurance, paid what was asked. If there was no rash, negligence or DUI, then nothing can be done to you by any means and legally as well.
Sit back and relax and if the owner harass you, inform in written mode to that to connect with zoom. If he still persist file a counter fir for harassment.

April 24, 2025 at 6:07 amYou are screwed then. The outcome of the lien will be deducting the 2k amount, Additionally ,since you already paid 2k yourself directly to the sender, they will claim they didn’t receive it.April 24, 2025 at 4:02 am in reply to: Lien on my bank account for an erroneous UPI transaction which I reversed back to the sender #9145EExpertstar2218

April 24, 2025 at 4:02 amNAL. Did you take a written confirmation when you sent an NEFT amount the unknown sender? I mean you should have an email at-least acknowledging that the sender has withdrawn the complaint with his bank and the amount you transferred to them is received. If you have such email, share with your bank and tell them to get it resolved with the other person’s bank account. If that doesn’t help then you can approach the RBI ombudsman. However a written communication from that unknown sender is must or at least a recorded call where you have explicitly mentioned to them that you were recording this call.
Additionally, please note that this is not a legal advice. Just giving you some two cents. If any doubt, file official complaint.
Edit – typos error

March 9, 2025 at 8:27 amIt’s because most of common people don’t know much about law and specifically liabilities and insurance related matters. This will take multiple visits and hearings in ombudsman and courts. Money will be expended, and even if you win at ombudsman, the case can be challenged in civil courts. Hence, it’s good to have an actual lawyer.Additionally, you are at fault as well. Never trust agent or middleman especially when known persons as they don’t share full details. You don’t read the TnC and sign on the dotted line without any thought.
You can blame the agent/middlemen but they are not liable. They advertised the product. The insurer sold you the product and you bought it without understanding it. You didn’t read the TnC and hence the insurer will blame it on you as it is a valid product as per IRDAI norms.
