GIf this story is true then there is nothing to say. He already gave proof in front of police. A lawyer can help him decrease his punishment and nothing else. But sounds like a made up story . Because in India police hardly take responsibility by taking someone in custody for more than 3 days. Also if possible try to take some evidence . Even if you don’t have evidence and she is not feeling safe she can just take help from child protective services. Also child helpline is 1098 which is open 24/7.

GSelf defense but if there is a cctv camera recording everything , that you attacked purely because of self defense then you wont have to waste your time going to court proving yourself. Just 1 visit to court with your attorney and show them the video proof and youre free of all chargesGI think you should tell your mom about it. Because what if someday your dad wants to clear his path by removing your mom. So, if your mom ever got hurt , you will never be able to forgive yourself. So, telling you mom is actually making her safe from your dad. Yes, maybe she will get shocked but she deserves to know the truth before something big happens and for her safety. I have seen many husbands tries to kill their wife just to get a clear path between him and her lover. And make it seem like an accident. If something like that happens you wont be able to turn back time, right now you have time.
