You’ve hit the nail on the head. The house couldn’t have been on the name of the previous owner because the Bank will insist on registration of the conveyance deed and the subsequent MoD.

Unfortunately, the system is slow. In a city like Bangalore, especially so. If the tenant is dragging on the matter, without just cause or by filing frivolous, meritless applications, move a revision in the HC and seek a direction for timely disposal.
