My friend’s dealership has been doing this from past 15 years. They add surcharge. If you want to pay then pay else leave.

Would ITR not be an issue?

Registering a UPI QR code under the “Fuel” category instead of the correct merchant category benefits the company rather than the customer. Since UPI QR transactions already have zero MDR, the customer does not gain any additional advantage. However, the company can claim tax benefits by classifying these transactions as fuel-related expenses.

Yes, I’m paying through UPI credit card, They can’t add upfront charges, they don’t have any component which they can alter.

I’m asking about a QR code, the MDR for that should be zero right?
The reward for fuel charges are quite negligible. How can I raise my voice against this fraud.
