March 25, 2025 at 3:01 pmYou say your mother owns the property, how did she acquire it? If it’s self acquired or she inherited it from her side of the family there’s not much you can do since she’s still the owner. If she inherited it from your father (without a formal will) a partition suit may work.
In any case, more details are required – Consult a lawyer.

March 1, 2025 at 3:10 pmThese are benaami transactions – Fraudulent under the law.As a first step, both of you sit with your father in law and ask for a full accounting + whatever assets and liabilities have been created in your wife’s name.
Also check the email and phone number registered with the bank for statements/OTPs etc.
When you have the full information, see whether you and your wife are comfortable with the situation (this may have been planned as an inheritance for your wife).
Take a decision only after this.
(If he doesn’t cooperate, let your wife go to the bank do a re-KYC with a new phone number and email address and take control of these assets. It’ll put you in a stronger bargaining position with him ).

Send the Society a lawyer’s notice to force them to record their reasons.

January 28, 2025 at 1:20 pmThe problem is your father gave him cash. Unless you can prove that this happened he can create any narrative he likes about why he gave you the cheque. It will be a civil matter though.January 26, 2025 at 3:26 pm in reply to: Can my mother and her sisters claim rights on ancestral property if Grandfather has already willed it to my Uncle? #66100PPawanfox379

January 23, 2025 at 1:17 pmOnly the society committee can answer these questions because these pertain to the common areas. If you’re an owner bring it up in society meetings.
If you’re renting ask your landlord for help.
