You need to be very confident in this kind of sticky situation. You have done nothing wrong other than public nuisance. Tell them you are willing to go to the court or meet the SI of that area and willing to pay a fine with receipt. They know that it’s embarrassing for both of you to waist time. Next time don’t budge and speak the local language and tell them willing to go to court. They are just scamming you both
