QWherever I stay is not a destination where locals beg for tourists. Goa is such a destination, except the locals in Goa have forgotten where their money comes from. It’s a good thing only foreigners come to Goa here on. You can sell half-litre bottles of water all day. That’s the only business you deserve, while listening to janitors from the west acting superior to you all day. In the meanwhile, those with money will go give elsewhere, to places that know how to respect us.QThere is certainly no taxi mafia where I stay. And locals are not unnecessarily rude where I stay. There is nothing to generalize. Either Goa learns how to treat tourists or you stop getting them. Simple and straightforward. Go to any Goa related travel forum if you think I’m exaggerating!QGoan locals have lost it. They only want our money, not us. I stopped going to Goa years back. I really don’t know why you still go there. They don’t want you, their taxi mafia make travel horrible, etc etc etc. Don’t go and give them your money when they disrespect you like that. Besides, Goa has gotten unnecessarily expensive. It is far cheaper to travel even to destinations like Thailand/Vietnam/Cambodia/Andaman/etc.
