I see people(non-lawyers) suggesting bribery of Judges. Well firstly that’s an Illegal advice given on a legal sub.
Secondly, Bribery of Judges can be a solution but hiring a good lawyer at the initial level is most important as he prepares your case and adorns the facts with crucial evidence. The Judge can take money and silently ignore your part of evidence and write a judgement based on the evidence given by the other party. But it doesn’t last long as there is a right of revision/appeal, the judge changes but the file remains the same having more documents at Appellate level.
Therefore, hire a good knowledgeable lawyer to build your case at the initial level.

Violence of any kind/form in a Marriage with any member of the family is the death knell of a relationship. It can be the sole reason for divorce.
Drinking might have increased post marriage but the person is solely responsible for his condition(lacking self control). I don’t know if the kids would be happy to have a drunkard father.
The nature of the wife might be suspicious..But that is practically not a reason for filling a divorce.
Kids would surely be unhappy with the situation they are currently facing. Imagining the environment of the house gives me chills.
Filling a divorce is advisable. Rest it is personal choice to continue or not.

RBeing a lawyer, I suppose you have a strong case as it was fought on merits. What happened might waste your time but things can get in your favour really quick. Few Advice to make it possible.1) Get a good lawyer and keep the payment terms of full case and not per date. As it is a win win for both to get the case to a final result.
2)If the family is well connected, you have a high chance of getting justice from HC as the connections do not work much in such places.
3)Speed things up, Give bribe to the babus for shorter dates (1k/2k) is nothing as compared to the maintenance amount. (Please don’t judge me for this advice as the system is rigged and I am trying to give a sound practical Solution)
4) File a transfer Petition to ease your problem of mom and dad being ill and bed ridden.
