March 25, 2025 at 8:22 pmLegally she can put her father in jail but for that she has to be ready to complain. The father has a duty to provide maintenance if she files a case for maintenance.Practical advice; call child helpline or see if any relative or elder person intervenes in the child abuse. I wish Indian social service was strong to put these people in jail and provide for the girl but safely we live in a third world country. Do not be afraid to approach the police if you think her life is under threat.

March 2, 2025 at 4:11 pmIf a will of your friendโs father states that she gets a share in the property then Hindu family law will not apply in case of a self acquired property.
Courts usually will ask you to settle the matter outside. Try to find a win win situation because property matters will be very long whatever your lawyers might say. She can easily get a stay on a any sale of property. -
