From your history you seem to have dealt with crypto which seems to be a famous target for bully/corrupt cops to prey on (just search account freeze crypto). It seems to take take victims months to a year to get it unfreezed. How come you still believe police are anything but reasonable?

Don’t make any strong claims and hide under the guise of already prolific abusers like astrology.

Better yet. Call him and feign familiarity to fish for any details like “Hello, Satish ji, pls fwd latest call sheet. boss wants update ASAP” or “checking on today’s target list. any updates?” or “Are we still using the old ICICI account? payment is stuck”.

Seems like they’re already living the punishment. Let the authorities know even if they don’t file an FIR, for future. You can’t really do much (not would the police most probably, at least in this case) except safeguard yourself. What can happen is they do something that ends up harming some other neighbor (like drop a brick on them) and blame you for it. So for that reason you need to keep the police in the loop. Try to get any paperwork (even a rough paperwork signed by the police) so you have an alibi. Keep recording, and try not to instigate them further, you only have more to lose than them.

Hire one of the lawyers that did show up. Hang around for a bit and observe which ones fight their client cases well.

                  > A few people in my neighborhood keep feeding the dog but refuse to take responsibility for it.

Feeding dogs should be banned, at least by specific people. That’s why Govt. is responsible for upliftment of the poor. Otherwise they become loyal to who they directly perceive as giving them benefits and hateful against everyone else.

Either EVERYONE feed the dogs or no one does. It’s this inequality of feeding that’s causing trouble.

What maybe can be done is when you feed the dogs use that opportunity to teach them to be less aggressive towards passerbys. Like don’t just go up to them and feed them. Wait for someone to pass who they bark at, go up to them so the dogs know you (the feeder) are friendly with them, and then feed while having a conversation, or better yet let them feed it.

It’s more about protecting other customer’s privacy. I too was recently threatened in a Hospital for doing the same. Live and learn 🀷

File a complaint even if it takes long or doesn’t yield immediate results for you personally. All govt employees have to go through a check at their retirement and even a single case of corruption can be grounds to deny them pension. It all catches up to them eventually.

Do you have evidence that you two specifically entered business? Investing in a business automatically means you take on both profit _and_ loss. Otherwise there’s fixed deposits.

Gather as much evidence of your dealings as you can. How did you two agree upon the business, verbally? Bank statements for profit/loss that corroborates no cheating happened.

Meet up with local police station in whose jurisdiction he’s most likely to file so you can get a word immediately when he does (you might have to bribe them). Get a lawyer involved who’ll make sure the investigating officer isn’t being partial to him (again, you might have bribe him), and including your side of the evidences in the case file.

If you do things right it should be an open and shut case, even if it reaches the court. Otherwise most likely the police will try to get you two to negotiate and settle out of court. If you’re lucky they’ll make sure he gets very little to nothing.

But yeah, don’t expect everything to just fall in place. You need to be just as aggressive in defending yourself as he is in implicating you.

You can’t. What if a dog mistakes you for someone who used to beat him? What if a stone falls on you?

The reality is the same tactic is used by the Govt to keep journalists in jail. There is no solution. Thank every day you stay unharmed in India.

Have alibis. Befriend local elderlies and people of influence. Other than that, maybe change your location to where these lowlifes can’t reach you.

Not a good advice, specially in legal forums. Nothing would come out of this except getting your reputation tainted as a scene maker. People don’t know or need to know your story. Always fight your battles legally. Don’t bring ~~knife~~ public in a ~~gun~~ legal fight.
