Sorry to hear this man, we all make mistakes and learn from them, but this is a huge one. I am wondering, do you have any support for consulting regarding these matters, like from parents or anyone trustworthy? I assume not, and took these bad decisions by yourself. People will trample you here for being stupid, ignore that. You are only stupid if you don’t learn and start acting on coming out of this situation with a well thought out plan. There will always be a way, believe it.

Definitely get a lawyer ASAP, before that know this that there is no knowledge that is not power. Equip yourself with the knowledge of applicable laws like loan recovery by banks, recovery agents, consequences of financial legal cases, provisions of the law for defaulters for such cases, bankruptcy, etc. So that you do not again get scammed by some lawyer.

This game that we play called living in India is on hard mode by default, get street wise ASAP to survive this game.

Seems like you are being gaslighted. Taking care of yourself whether physically, mentally or emotionally is not selfishness, not giving a damn about others who don’t care about you is also not selfishness.

Not a lawyer. Being in Australia you have more rights and support from the law there than in India. Use it to your advantage. Others and family always lean on the side of “try to make things work”. This compatibility between people who have to spend their lives together either is present or is not, it can rarely be coerced out of someone. A persons behaviour comes out of their character which comes out of their personal experience and background. So imagine the effort it would take to undo all that, and install a different character in them.

I am not sure of your rights as per the current visa/residency class that you hold there, but find out your rights within the provision of the local laws and give it a good thought, whether you would like to live like that for the rest of your life with him, is it going to get better, or worse?, what should be done to bring you out of this situation with the support of the local laws via your rights, can you be self sufficient without him in a foreign land, if situation comes to worse? Can your job enable you to do that?.

You can use a new signature if you want in the renewal application, previous signature does not matter.

Not a single lawyer here till now with legal advise just name calling the victim πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I guess first step should be filing FIR.
