For tatkaal the verification happens later (not always but mostly). You ll be contacted by the person in charge of verification from the nearest police station (nearest wrt to the address in ur passport). If you don’t hear back from them in 15 days you can reach out to the FRO/FRRO dept in the police headquarters- they are in charge of the overall verification process.
