March 1, 2025 at 4:20 pmNAL,.but not sure what your concern is? You have paid and you have statement to prove. The only way he can catch you ( legally ) saying that he didn’t asked you to pay Altaf. I guess you have proof of interaction that he had indeed requested you to pay Altaf.
Let him take legal course ( if he thinks he will do that for 5K ).ยSimilar way, you can take legal action (civil route) only. This is not a criminal case IMO. But are you willing to go that route for few thousand rupees?
Your work is done and just forget. That’s the only logical step I can think of.ย

January 13, 2025 at 9:18 amSafe harbor statement : I am in no way to be blamed for anything happens. This is a sticky wicket. If its just matter of 1-2 days, why don’t you just “delay” your resignation. Go on emergency leave ( medical or otherwise ) for 2-3 days. In the meantime, check with others if they have received offer letters or not.
My gut feeling ( and hoping I am wrong ), they will keep a very small fraction of workforce. You need to take a call if you might be in that group or not.
Regardless, start looking out. No harm in interviewing.

January 13, 2025 at 8:46 amAsk them for new company offer letter first, else, don’t do anything. Also, in most mergers / acquisitions, there is clause that new company will not lay off anyone for certain period. However, they can still ask you to resign in other pretext. So tread carefully. -
