If your masseuse offers to meet you at your place, that’s not solicitation. If a woman you meet at a bar offers to come to your room for paid services, that’s okay.
But if the police can prove that the spa or hotel is planting the sex workers there specifically for selling sex, or is receiving a commission off it, then that’s illegal. If the masseuse offers to have sex with you in the spa where she works, that’d fall under public solicitation or the venue would potentially be tried as a brothel.
There’s a lot of gray areas and the police exploits this to extort a bribe out of you (“we will tell your family”) but have basically no interest in actually charging you, unless there’s a trafficking or pimping case to be built.
I can’t say it’s zero-risk, but the odds of someone getting in trouble for being caught in a hotel room with an escort are extremely low, and even if caught, it isn’t a crime.
SSolicitation and pimping is illegal. Solicitation basically means advertising sex in exchange for money, and includes online ads or propositioning on the streets.Exchanging sex for money privately isn’t illegal.
Additionally, paying for sex using UPI may count as a violation of a bank or platform’s terms and conditions. The way I understand it is it doesn’t necessarily violate UPI’s terms and conditions, but it may violate, say, Google Pay or your bank’s UPI app T&Cs.
So pay cash, and deal privately. Good luck if your phone number is found in a pimp’s call or text logs.
