If u really want a solution and your so called friend is not taking this seriously then call his dad and tell him the entire scenario.

If he is 5% good then you ll get your money and uour friend will be screwed.

Chodna wodna hai toh ask him to take loan on his name and pay it off then u can leave it.

From your post it feels like there is nothing you can do if you dont want your parents getting involved

As a minor you would need a guardian to be with you for all the legal formalities
