When applying for passport, there are 2 types of verification, pre and post, which the passport officer selects when approving application. For Tatkal passport, usually the passport is sent before and verification happens afterwards.

Your passport is valid and can be used to travel immediately, just wait for verification officer to call you. Can take week or two. If you still haven’t received any update, try visiting police station where your file is sent.

You can download and use Truecaller, it has the option to block identfied spam calls, international calls, call outside of contact list, etc. You select blocking options in settings.
