The matter is already concluded, so I don’t need any other lawyer. Should I be taking any steps to safeguard myself, for example, send them a formal email denying the payments or should I just ignore their advances?

I’m striving for that but the amounts I’ve been given are double what we had discussed. The fees were extremely steep in the first place.

Yeah, I’d rather not do that. It’s taken me ages to get out of a legal mess in the first place. Just wanted friendly advice on how to tackle this. It sort of feels a little like extortion now.

No written agreement. I was given an estimate last year of 13-14L. It’s been random since then and now this invoice.
