Hi, all chimney exhaust releases particulate matter consisting of oil, carbon oxides and other fumes. If you have a doubt, then change the direction towards the roof of your house and see the black deposits yourself.

The cost of the chimney affects its efficiency, it won’t turn the fumes into clean fresh air.

Kindly listen to everyone here and get it fixed.

To add more context, we also bought a chimney recently, and did a fair amount of research about it. Check the maximum outlet pipe length and diameter of the outlet pipe, and then find the solution which doesn’t affect others.

Hi, the technician you fitted the chimney should have done better. It is definitely your responsibility that the chimney shouldn’t face your neighbour’s house. Put yourself in the neighbour’s shoes and try to think how you will react.

Also, extending the pipe length affects the functioning of the chimney (it reduces the suction), so call the technician who fitted it, and change the direction of the outlet.
