All those comments along the lines of “you got what you deserve” are the reason why things are the way they are. People are ready to accept police violence as normal, if they feel the reason is justified. The police is supposed to enforce the law and not become law themselves. He didn’t get what he deserved with those slaps. There are penalties and punishments defined in law and he exactly deserved those. Nothing more.
Even if someone commits murder, the police is not supposed to hit them. The police is supposed to arrest them, present them to court and execute the punishment awarded.
