      Affidavit, notarization is the solution to a majority of the data problems in Indian systems. I think should be doable.

      IMO, in the Indian society, father’s name is the most impacted term, so, if that can be corrected, anything can be.

      The thoughts in your mind(e.g changing certificate, documents etc) was going through mine as well, but in the end, it was very simple once I was told about the notary route. I was sceptical to be honest, but worked

        You should be able to, and here is my experience with (almost) similar scenario

        In the birth records, my father’s name was incorrect (something completely different from what it actually is) mother’s name was spelt incorrectly

        I had to do an affidavit, had it notarised, submitted the original records along with said affidavit in the municipality records section and had a birth certificate with all details exactly as I wanted.

        It will be a little bit of navigation that you need to do at the local municipality office, but based on my exp, doable

        I did this about 2 years ago.
