Get pictures, video and audio proof first. You listening won’t suffice. But still idek whether the police would do anything

Do you have evidence? If yes then contact police immediately else wait till you get sufficient evidence

They can’t take any, they are at fault right? So technically they would be putting themselves in a bad situation, you chill out, speak to a known lawyer & good lawyer about this

If the person driving the car has a license then you can just tell that who crashed into your bonnet jumped the signal it’s their mistake. Why should you compensate other than small amount as goodwill? You aren’t even at fault here buddy

Give it a try, if not possible you can’t do anything. If they file a case & it goes to court, I guess you and whoever were with you can testify there, and I assume you will outnumber the opposite party?

They jumped the signal which in itself is a crime, so if possible to prove that you are right get a polygraph test of you guys stating the facts. This can be used as evidence, if you have proof that you are not on the wrong then I guess you are safe unless they have influence

Also why should you pay more money, some out of goodwill it’s manageable but not more. They took the risk let them repent

You can consider filing a case under IPC Section 354C if it’s relevant
