There is a typical toxicity of Indian parents where they do not want to recognize any agency of the children. Like , if they say you to jump, you say how many times. No questions, no explanations. Many of Indian school teachers are petty like that. It doesn’t matter to them whether the student is doing good. They want their share of subservience. Else they shout , intimidate and even resort to physical abuse. All in the facade of being a good, strict teacher. Many Indian teachers lack empathy. ‘ Taare Zameen Par’ was on point regarding this.
