Happened the same. The number was gone like that. No records, nothing.

I had ported my airtel number to jio back in 2019. I had produced my MH Driving Licence for KYC. Everything was good for 8 months and then one evening, it happened. Exactly the same way you described. Fortunately, in my case, I approached regional Jio office and they offered to apply for release of number so that they can allot it to me under postpaid scheme. The number got released to airtel pool though and i had to approach airtel to get the same number back. 3 months later, i got it converted to prepaid. Entire process took 4 months. Nobody had an answer as to why this happened, but after some digging, i found that MH DL was no longer a valid KYC document (digital india my foot). Could be the reason why it happened.

What you can do is, approach regional Jio office. Ask them to get the number released. They’ll allot the number to u, but it will be postpaid. You can apply for conversion to prepaid after 3 months. You wont get back the recharge amount back though. Sadly, it is what it is

          11. Thou shalt rub one out, instead of falling for escort scams and then asking for legal advice
