EVEN IF the last ultrasound showed a viable baby [normal growth for gestational age & normal heartbeat] there is ALWAYS a chance that baby dies inside the womb somewhere between the last & present ultrasound — for no obvious reason. Pregnancy is not devoid of risk even if everything appears normal. To allege negligence, first there has to be negligence. An unexpected unfavorable outcome doesn’t automatically mean negligence. An no doctor will compromise on the wellbeing of the mother & baby merely for their convenience.
