UThank you for responding. I am reaching out to them. I did talk to a few of my senior and they adviced me not to get further involved as now bci required you to maintain a clean criminal record to registered as an advocate. One senior of mine told me ” tere paas khone ko bohot kuch hai career pe baat aajayegi and degree withold hone ke chances badh jayenge. Matter ko ek month hone wala hai let it go chances are this will most likely get dragged out for a while and uss chakkar mein life ki baaki cheezein disrupt hongi.”UYrr ek aur cheez hojayegi regret karne ko. Mai toh abhi bhi regret kar raha hu ki thoda pehle nikal gaya hota exam deke toh yeh sab hota hi nahi. It was literally my last exam of my entire 5 year law school.UThank you for responding. I understand the situation does feel that way and i personally felt a bit guilty about my verbal abuses too however the verbal abuses were exchanged from both sides. He made equally derogatory remarks about my mother whereas my remarks were strictly limited to insulting him. There is also the fact that such verbal spats were guisee as “casual leg pulling” and “bhaichara” and “backchodi” when he aimed them towards me. However when I did the same I simply assumed that he would take them the same way I did in the past.UThanks for responding. I wasn’t expecting the college to solve anything however the gross miscarriage of justice and the complete unaccountability of the perpetrator was something i did not seem to foresee as I assumed that atleast a verbal apology seemed reasonable based on the severity of the injuries.
What’s even more bizarre is that I did not file a complaint with the College, the perpetrator did the very next day after assaulting me. I merely received the phone call from the college disciplinary committee in-charge stating that there has been a complaint filed against you and you are expected to come on MondayUThank you for the response. I’ve kinda gotten used to these comments ever since the entire matter unfolded. My parents, other teachers and friends who know about the matter did tell me to simply block the guy and move on and to some extent that would have very much been the right thing to do.UThanks for the response. That’s exactly what I want but the symptoms of my injury remind me everyday of the lack of accountability of the perpetrator. The verbal spat involved both of us exachanging equally derogatory remarks however he started hurling abuses at my mother. I agree i did lose my temper but I assumed that since the verbal spat involved abuses from both sides the matter would’ve strictly stayed verbal. I also accept that the nature of the so called relationship was somewhat toxic as regular verbal bullying from his end and often from my end as well was a common occurrence and assumed this to be one of those regular instances as well.UThank you for the response. It’s been a month today since the incident. My injuries still haven’t completely resolved. Since the college resolved the matter internally do you think should I go to the police a month later?UThank you for the response. I was severely injured the day I was assaulted and didn’t want to involve my parents in the dispute. There is also the fact that i was scared that my law degree could be held by the college as a clean criminal record is required to be registered as an advocate with the bar council of India. Since my injuries were too severe I went to bed as soon as I came home and woke up the next day to know that my classmate has filed a complaint with the College regarding the verbal abuses i hurled at him.
