The passport office has accepted whatever address proof OP has, else the application would never have come for police verification.
All the cops need to do for verification is make sure that OP is residing at the location given in the address proof. Aadhaar address is irrelevant.
In fact, aadhaar is just one of the “acceptable documents”, not a necessary document.
